Frequently Asked Questions

Can I install the Outback Scout myself?

Yes. The Outback Scout is designed as a simple DIY-friendly solar bore pump kit, with a plug-and-play solar connection, dedicated controller and 40m of submersible pump cable included. You will still need to safely mount the solar panel, lower and secure the pump correctly, and connect your delivery pipework, but the electrical setup is designed to be straightforward without complicated wiring.

Is the Scout suitable for filling a tank?

Yes. The Scout is ideal for smaller bore water supply applications such as filling storage tanks, supplying livestock trough tanks and transferring water in off-grid locations. It is best suited to applications requiring up to 18 LPM, with a maximum head rating of 70m. Actual flow will depend on your bore depth, vertical lift, pipe run and available sunlight.

How long is the motor cable?

The Outback Scout includes 40m of 2.5mm2 submersible black rubberflex cable with a quick connector on the end pre-spliced ready to go!
