The Outback DF130M Disc Filter is a heavy-duty 25mm inline water filter designed to protect solar bore pumps, pressure systems, valves, and controllers from sand, sediment, algae, and fine debris. Featuring a 130-micron polypropylene disc filtration system, it provides reliable depth filtration with significantly reduced maintenance compared to traditional screen filters.
Built on a proven modular disc-filter design, the DF130M is ideal for remote and rural solar pumping installations where water quality can vary and routine cleaning access may be limited.
Why Disc Filtration Is Better for Solar Pumps
Unlike screen filters that trap debris on a single surface, disc filters use stacked grooved discs to provide depth filtration. This creates a much larger effective filtering area, allowing the filter to:
- Handle fluctuating water quality
- Reduce clogging frequency
- Maintain more stable flow and pressure
This is especially important for solar pumps, which are sensitive to sudden pressure drops or flow restriction.
Key Benefits
- 130 micron (≈120 mesh) disc filtration – ideal balance for bore water
- Large filtration surface area → less frequent cleaning
- Heavy-duty polypropylene housing for durability and chemical resistance
- Tool-free threaded closure system for easy servicing
- Modular disc cartridge – removable and washable
- Auxiliary ports for pressure gauges or draining
